Stage fright or was it frost bite?

Killie lost their 5th League Cup Final, as they were over-run by an in-form Hibernian side.

Gordon Greer at least scored Killie's first goal in the Final of this competition.

Things could have been so very different if only Killie had taken their chances in the first 25 min's, but sadly lost the opening goal to set piece when Jones headed home from 6 yards in the 27th min.

After that Combe made a couple of good stops, to keep Killie in it at the half.

A second half comeback never materialised, and Killie only had one decent spell after falling behind 0-3. "Killie Till I Die" could be heard ringing around Hampden, after Greer pulled one back (right), but two more slack defending situations cost Killie dear, as Killie attempted to chase the game.

The fifth Hibs goal being a personal nightmare for Alan Combe.

Final Key Action

Two minutes: Steven Fletcher is put through and goes down under pressure in the box. No penalty given.

Three minutes: A free kick on the right. Ivan Sproule lifts it in straight to the keeper.

Five minutes: Kilmarnock win first corner of the match after a run by Paul Di Giacomo. A Steven Naismith header at the back post is tipped away by Andy McNeil.

Nine minutes: Garry Hay breaks down the left and crosses into the box but the danger is cleared.

12 minutes: A great save by Kilmarnock keeper Alan Combe after Lewis Stevenson weaves through the defence.

14 minutes: Naismith through one-on-one with the keeper chasing a high ball but his header from the edge of the box goes wide.

17 minutes: Kilmarnock win free kick on the right. Gordon Greer and Naismith combine but the ball is collected easily. McNeil kicks his clearance straight against Naismith.

20 minutes: Hay breaks down the left and fires in a cross which is scrambled away and taken off the toes of Abdessalam Benjelloun.

21 minutes: Sproule causes more concern for Kilmarnock but Combe clears, Whittaker tries a long-range effort which goes high, wide and handsome.

25 minutes: Sproule runs at the Kilmarnock defence again but shoots well wide.

26 minutes: Hay breaks again but is tackled for Hibs' first corner on the left. Murphy takes it and Rob Jones leaps at the back post to open the scoring with a thumping header.

28 minutes: At the other end Jones blocks a shot in his own box as Kilmarnock look to hit back straight away.

33 minutes: Good work by Benjelloun and Sproule leads to a Steven Whittaker header being turned around the post. Another corner but this one is headed clear.

34 minutes: Scott Brown gives away a free kick and gets a stern word from the referee. The free kick is floated right over the box and out of danger.

37 minutes: Di Giacomo wins a free kick from Fletcher right on the edge of the box. Frazer Wright drives it into the wall and the rebound is saved by McNeil.

41 minutes: Benjelloun puts Sproule through but he is tackled.

43 minutes: Benjelloun is brought down on the left edge of the box, Murphy takes the free kick which is deflected for a corner.

Half Time: Hibs 1 Killie 0

50 minutes: Peter Leven goes down under pressure from Benjelloun and gets treatment on the pitch.

56 minutes: Peter Leven substituted for Gary Wales.

57 minutes: Di Giacomo is booked.

58 minutes: Benjelloun runs at the defence, cuts inside and slots a brilliant finish with his left foot wide of the keeper after Whittaker wins the ball in midfield.

61 minutes: Fletcher crosses for Brown who fires over the bar and ends up in a heap in the back of the Kilmarnock net.

66 minutes: Fletcher is clean through after great work by Benjelloun and Brown and slots away a crisp finish.

67 minutes: Sproule breaks on the right and crosses inside but Brown's shot is charged down for a corner.

69 minutes: Shell-shocked Kilmarnock finally get into the Hibs box but Jones intercepts.

75 minutes: Gary Locke on for Paul Di Giacomo.

76 minutes: Locke takes a corner then gets the ball back, whips in a cross and Gordon Greer heads in to score after Wright puts it back across the goal.

78 minutes: Merouane Zemmama on, Sproule off.

80 minutes: Brown gives away a free kick and has a brief flare-up with Locke.

83 minutes: Zemmama breaks from a Kilmarnock corner, runs the length of the pitch but his ball across the box is cleared.

85 minutes: A long ball finds Fletcher on the left who passes inside to Benjelloun who fires home for a brilliant goal.

87 minutes: A horrendous blunder by Combe presents Fletcher with Hibs' fifth.

88 minutes: Benjelloun hits the post with a glancing header from a whipped free kick from the left.
